Bornibus’ salted gherkins/pickles are harvested at full maturity and then canned in jars in a special spiced brine. Their brine adds a nice hit of spice to these delicious pickles. They can be enjoyed on their own as a snack, are perfect as part of a charcuterie platter, or used as a topping for sandwiches and burgers. They can also be diced and added to salads or relishes for added texture and flavor.

Bornibus began in Paris, France, back in 1855. Started by Alexandre Bornibus, his innovations for creating mustard and other condiments earned him fame within the industry; he would quickly become one of the leading and most important producers of mustard in the region, dubbed the “king of mustard.” In 1869, Le Petit Journal wrote: “This manufacturer, thanks to his unique processes, has managed to popularize mustard; he has succeeded in getting this condiment into every home.” Today, that tradition of innovation and quality continues with their expanded line of condiments, pickled treats, and charcuterie items.
